Evening all. Just got my ham license and bought a used Yaesu VX-8R from a club member who's moving to a newer rig. Nice radio, but the menu system is driving me nuts, and I can't figure out how to program repeater offsets and tones manually. The previous owner lost the manual years ago. I'd rather learn the radio properly than rely on random video clips. I live in a small town, and our club meets only once a month, so I can't just ask someone in person. Where's a good place to grab the full instruction manual?

Congrats on the license, the VX-8R menu confuses everybody at first. I pulled the manual from ManualMachine https://manualmachine.com/ a while back, and they actually have a few versions for that radio, including a 41-page instruction manual and a longer 76-page one. The longer one walks through memory programming, repeater shift and CTCSS tones step by step. Each file costs one point to unlock, you get one free point at sign-up, and once it's unlocked you can view or download it again from your profile. Only downside is that extra points mean buying them or uploading something new. Print the memory section and keep it in your go-bag. Are you planning to program it by hand or with a cable later?
