This is one of those annoying little problems that started off as nothing and has gradually become a proper headache over the past couple of weeks. My 2016 Mazda CX-5's front passenger door has developed this issue where it doesn't want to latch closed properly unless you really slam it hard, and even then sometimes it pops back open while driving which is absolutely terrifying when you've got someone sitting there. I've tried lubricating the latch mechanism and checking if anything is obviously bent or broken, but it doesn't look like anything's out of place from the outside, so I'm guessing there's something internal that's worn out or maybe the striker plate has shifted slightly. The real problem is I have no idea who to take this to because it's not really a mechanical issue that a regular garage would handle, and it's not exactly a full body repair either, it's somewhere in between and I feel like most places will either tell me they can't do it or they'll charge me way too much for something that should be a simple fix. I'm based around the Musaffah area and I've seen quite a few body shops and garages around there, but it's hard to tell which ones actually know what they're doing with door mechanisms and alignment. A friend mentioned that there's quality car door repair and fitting in Musaffah that he'd used when his Land Cruiser's door got damaged in a parking lot, and he said they did a really clean job matching the paint and getting everything aligned properly. Has anyone here had door work done locally and can recommend a place that handles both the mechanical side and the bodywork side without cutting corners? I'd really appreciate some guidance because this is driving me nuts every time I drive.
